We found kids' raincoats that change colour when wet. That is all
It’s unicorn magic, y’all
Rain, rain … don’t go away! These are too magical to ignore.
With a little bit of Magic Colour Technology, Holly & Beau Kids’ Raincoats burst into colour when they come into contact with water and turn back to their original colours again when dry. Think of it as a hypercolour T-shirt, only for wet weather.
At $94.50, it’s fair to say that this accessory is definitely an investment but they sure provide that extra special touch to the wardrobe compared to other bargain brands on the market.
You’ve got a range of designs to choose from, including fun little monsters to cupcakes, unicorns, dinosaurs and robots. There’s something for every fussy child.
We don't have fancy ones like these, but here's a collection of the best raincoats for mum. And if you're after some extra comfort at soccer training this winter, check out this chair that warms your bum!

Of course, it’s not just about the exciting magic. The raincoats do actually promise what they’re made for and provide lightweight protection against the elements. And they even come with a convenient bag attached so they can be packed away neatly into a school bag or even your handbag when on the run with a toddler.
While you can find the raincoats on the Upper Notch Club website, you’ll also be able to see them in the flesh at the upcoming Life InStyle Melbourne event in August (2019).
And it’s not just these raincoats you’ll be able to find on exhibit, either. Holly & Beau will also be showing off their other pieces of rainwear and accessories – including umbrellas that also change colour when wet.
“As a mum myself, I'd had enough of my boys complaining about being stuck inside when it rains, and it does a lot in Melbourne, so I started looking for a product that would make rain fun, and I did," Upper Notch Club CEO, Olesya Pasko, tells Kidspot.
"Holly & Beau rainwear encourages the kids to stop doing whatever they were doing inside and run play outside the minute it starts raining.”
The unexpected benefits of the design
According to Olesya, the unique concept of the rain gear is also helping children embrace the wild winter weather.
“I have some fabulous feedback from the clients ... one girl was absolutely terrified by rain and the parents had to find a way to make her enjoy the raindrops. The mum posted a heart-melting post on Instagram and has been one of my biggest fans since we started this business a little less than a year ago,” she shares.
Another child is so desperate for rain that he keeps licking the raincoat to watch it change colour.
“Kids tend to spend a little too much time on their devices; any product that would encourage them to enjoy the great outdoors is just so amazing."
Yep, your little ones will be BEGGING for it to rain!
